The Rusty Blackstix was designed by legendary San Diego shaper Rusty Preisendorfer for bigger surfers looking to generate speed and drive in smaller waves. The Blackstix material combined with the V2 foil provide spring in smaller waves while the larger, balanced template provides hold for the bigger guy in a variety of conditions.

A V2 Foil is a V. Foil and Flat Foil blend. It takes the best speed generating attributes of the V. (at the base) and transitions into a flat foil in the tip for a controlled release in critical turns. Try the V2 foil if you are transitioning from flat sided fins. The benefits of the V. foil base will be noticeable but the change for your muscle memory will not be too drastic.

We’ve put asymmetrical carbon panels on the inside and outside of the fin, while allowing only the carbon placed on the inside of the fin to climb completely to the tip. Having this carbon on both sides of the base creates a solid, drivey feel, but with carbon on the outside of the fin climbing only partially up the fin, the fin progressively flexes more as it gets closer to the tip. This gives a snappy feel to your board and enables the unique liveliness that only Blackstix can provide.
