If you are thinking of starting to surf then it is really important to find the correct board for your size and weight. You have a few options in terms of what board to buy in terms of soft surfboard or a hard top board. A soft board is for someone that wants to learn the basics of surfing and catch loads of waves. The only down side to a soft board is that you are restricted in terms of progression as they are designed to catch waves and go along the line. Other hard boards such as the Bic's or Cortez are design that you not only learn on them but as you get better you can turn the boards and progress.
